The Friends of the Library would like to send their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Rev. Larry Daniel who was the speaker for the Annual Membership Dinner Meeting held last week at the library.. Rev. Daniel spoke about his several books and his adventures in the publishing industry. Rev. Daniel knows how to tell a story that is both fascinating and funny, and encouraging. The buffet meal, provided by Charleston Catering, was delicious. The meal consisted of grilled chicken, meatloaf, whipped potatoes with gravy, baby carrots, green beans, rolls, dessert and tea. Yum!! The flower arrangements by Treasure Chest were stunning. The evening was a wonderful experience for all who attended. Thank you to the members of the Friends of the Library Board for working so hard to make this evening a success.
Thank you to all who attended and who have sent in their membership dues for this year. If you have not sent your membership dues in yet, there is still time to do so. If you haven’t been a member before, we’d love for you to join. Membership dues range from a $1.00 Student Member to a $1,000.00 Life Membership. Or any amount in between. Your membership matters greatly to us. All dues are tax-deductible.
The Friends of the Library thank you for your support and generosity for this coming year.

The library would like to thank Mr. Joel Southern, CEO of Haywood Park Community Hospital for speaking to our Lunch & Learn group last week. Thank you for sharing your vision and time with us.

Lunch & Learn will be offered on Wednesday, May 22nd at 12 noon in the library meeting room. Our guest speaker for the month is still being planned, so please stay tuned for details. As always, please remember to bring a lunch, the library will provide drinks and dessert.
Now that spring is fully here, that means that summer is not too far behind. What does the library have planned for this summer? We have our annual Summer Reading Program for all ages, that’s what! This year’s summer reading theme is “Dig Into Reading!” and, boy, are we excited! More details to come soon, stay tuned!
