The Elma Ross Public Library is OPEN to the public! Yes, indeed, we are open. Below is our list of new procedures that we are following. Please read.
Patrons will be required to wash hands entering and leaving the library.

Patrons highly encouraged to wear masks.

Patrons will not be able to roam the shelves, must ask for materials at circulation desk.

Patrons asked to observe proper social distancing.

Children will remain with parents at all times.

Library will reduce number of available computers by half to help with proper social
distancing.

Library will allow computer use with a strict Limit of 1 hr. Sanitizing desks/chairs
after each patron. Keyboards/mice will be covered with plastic wrap and changed
between each patron.

Library will allow printing/copying/fax/scanning.

Library will continue to offer curb-side pick-up for those who do not wish to enter the
premises.

Returned materials are sanitized, then stored for 48-72 hours before re-shelving.

Library will continue to offer on-line content and use of WiFi.

Staff will wear masks.

Staff will sanitize high-traffic areas (door-pulls/countertops/tabletops/chairs) hourly.

These rules are subject to change as needed.

And Imagine Your Story Summer Reading 2020 is underway. If you have not registered or started logging your books, please do so today. To register/log materials, please go to this website: http://elmarosslibrary.readsquared.com/ The library is still creating weekly on-line content as well. These videos will earn you points and points will earn you prizes. It isn’t too late, register and join us for Imagine Your Story Summer Reading 2020. We have programs from birth to adult.

“Imagine Your Story” Summer Reading 2020 is here!!!!! We are so very excited about summer reading this year. Because of the COVID virus, we are having to do things a bit differently this year. Our programs are on-line now. We are offering programs for listeners, children, teens, and adults. Something for everyone. And keeping track of what you read is slightly different too. We are using ReadSquared software to register participants and log reading. Just visit this website http://elmarosslibrary.readsquared.com to register and start logging your books. You get extra points if you view our weekly on-line programs. Our on-line programs are offered Mondays through Thursdays. Mondays is for young listeners, Tuesdays is for adults, Wednesdays is for teens, and Thursdays is for children. Any craft for the week (for the children or teen programs) will be made available on the front porch of the library, just look for the appropriate box. We are currently working on plans to reopen to the public. Please keep a watch on our facebook page for any announcements.

We certainly hope that everyone had a safe, healthy, and socially-distanced Memorial Day. We are working hard here at your library to make sure that new materials are ordered and checked out. We have cleaned and we’ll be cleaning some more. Please know that we miss seeing you all very much and we’re looking forward to the day that we can be re-open to the public. Until that time, everyone stay safe and healthy and happy.

What makes us happy, you ask? Books make us happy. Summer reading makes us happy. Heck reading at any time makes us happy. But since summer is just around the corner we wanted to remind everyone about our Summer Reading Programs here at the library. The theme is A Universe of Stories. Our summer reading program is going on-line this year. We are using ReadSquared software to sign-up and track reading for this summer. The link to access our webpage for ReadSquared is https://elmarosslibrary.readsquared.com/ We have reading programs for all ages on ReadSquared. Registration is required, so check out the site and sign-up today. We will still be offering programs on Thursdays beginning June 4th through July 16th. These programs will be on-line as well. There will be a kids program, a teen program, and an adult program. You can earn points on ReadSquared for watching the video(s). We will also make the craft kits for our Thursday programs made available to everyone here at the library.

We are hoping that we will be able to re-open to the public in the month of June, but we do not have a concrete date yet. Please check the Facebook page for updates.
