It’s beginning to look a lot like fall around here. Have you been to Court Square lately? Have you seen all these neat scarecrows? We are excited about Fall Fest this weekend, we hope that you are too. There is lots of talent here in Haywood County. Since fall is here, it is time to fall into a great book to read.
Toddler Time will be offered on Monday, October 21st at 11am. We have stories and a craft and lots and lots of fun. Please join us. All toddlers and their caregivers are invited to come to the library for Toddler Time or at any time for that matter.
Lunch & Learn will be offered on Wednesday, October 23rd at 12 noon. Our guest speaker is being finalized, so please stay tuned for details. As always, bring a lunch, the library will provide drinks and dessert. Let’s Lunch & Learn at the Library! There will be NO lunch & Learn programs for the months of November and December because of the holidays.
Oooo . . . . .Halloween is coming up fairly quickly. Do you know what your Halloween costume will be yet? We might just dress up here at the library – you never know what will happen. And we have a feeling that Cousin Itt will be making his annual appearance as well. We wonder what type of costume he will wear? Should be interesting.
Here is a partial list of some of the scary stories that we have here in our collections:
“Scary Stories Treasury” by Alvin Schwartz
“Scary Stories for All Ages” by Robert Brown
“Favorite Scary Stories of American Children”
“Spooky Sleepover” by Joan Holub
“There’s No Such Thing” by Tony Mitton
Come on by and check out a few. Just be sure to keep a light on at night to keep the monsters under the bed at bay. Bwahahahahahahaha!
Happy Reading!
